Announcements – April 2020
Hello Everyone, Its time for some updates to what is going on in the University Darts UK Community.
We have Launched the Target UDUK Online Lockdown Series!
This allows those with home setups to continue playing darts against others in the UDUK community, I am also aware that a number of universities are running their own events/leagues online. We would love for everyone to participate in the UDUK events!
There is also a team event upcoming and more infomation will be released about this shortly.
As you will all know we had to cancel big weekender with the intention to try and reschedule it at a later date. We have issued refunds for all tickets and the majority of them should have gone through by now. However due to the current situation the payment provider/card providers/banks may be a little slow in processsing things so we ask that if you havent seen your refund come through yet that you give it some time. If you havent had a refund by 21st April (28 days after they were initally queued) then please contact the committee.
We have been in contact with the venue and they have said they are happy to try and reschedule in the future and will keep us in mind when organsing their calandar however there is little to no point doing any planning for now as we do not know how long the situation will last.
As mentioned in the statement on 16th March there will be a finance report on the canceled event once all sunk costs are settled.
NUDL Finals Day / Rileys Finals Night
This event was scheduled for 26th April however has now been postponed until further notice. More infomation will be made available as and when we can plan to reschedule
No changes from previous statement: The league remains suspended and if we can resume the deadline for matches will be the end of the academic year.
Sad news from Nottingham
It has been announced that a member of the community has been lost, Ben Clark (aka Countdown) from University of Nottingham was found unresponsive at his home. This is a great loss to UoN and the wider UDUK Community. Ben was a great lad and nobody had a bad word to say about him. The UDUK Committee would like to extend our best wishes to his family and friends at this time.
We have witnessed a response to this news on social media with many clubs/societies and individuals sharing kind words. This shows how strong we are as a community and how it effects all of us when someone is lost.
If anyone has been effected greatly by this and wishes to talk to someone then we recommend that you reach out to your universities support networks or you can reach out to the Samaritans on 116 123.
As usual if you have any questions or are looking for support with any issues involving university darts then please reach out to the UDUK Committe and we will do what we can to help.
