Announcements – June 2020

It’s now at the time of the month when we update everyone on the current happenings and developments. There has not been much development but we feel it is still important to let you know that we are still working to make sure University Darts continues and is as good as it can possibly be.

We are in regular contact with out partners to get the lay of the land and keep apprised of the latest infomation and on how that may effect the dealings we have.

Online Events

Due to levels of interest and given the overwhelming amount of choice people have for online events. UDUK will not be running another season of the lockdown series but may run some stand alone tournaments less frequently instead.

There is also the potential for other live streamed events in the future but more on that will be announced as and when it becomes viable

Meanwhile, If universitities are running their own events online and would like any help or advice please do reach out and we may be able to help you.

Event Status

As mentioned above there is very little change to plans currently but we will likely be in a position where we will be making a decision either way in time for next months news.

NUDL Finals Day – Provisionally rescheduled for 23rd August
SUDL League – Suspented until further notice
UDUK Big Weekender 19/20 – Cancelled with hope to reschedule
Rileys University Cup – Provisionally rescheduled for 23rd August

Events Moving Forward

Next Academic year is most likely going to be very different to other years in structure and this means UDUK may have to restrucutre the way we run events and leagues. This will be constantly re-examined and we will be in contact with club/society presidents to keep them informed of any changes.

New Presidents/Chairpersons of clubs/societies

We know that around this time of year clubs/societies are election new committees to lead them in the upcoming academic year. Please do keep us informed of who is taking over at your university or if you are at a university that is newly forming a club/society then please also reach out and let us know and we will make sure everyone remains informed of what is happening for next academic year!

These are stressful and trying timings for everyone, Through the wonders of technology we are still able to talk to each other and some of us even play the sport we love, However if you are stuggling then please remember that most university welfare teams are still running and you can reach out to them to talk. If you want to speak to someone outside of the university networks then there is also the Samaritans who can be reached on 116 123.

As usual if you have any questions or are looking for support with any issues involving university darts then please reach out to the UDUK Committe and we will do what we can to help.
