Announcements – September 2021
21/22 UK Universities Darts League
After careful deliberation and feedback polling from the club presidents we have decided to allow some alumni participation in the leagues this season.
This is to achieve two things:
We want those players that felt like they missed out in rounding off their Uni Darts careers to have an opportunity to do so.
We want to give some support to some clubs which have had very hard times with recruitment but still have some alumni involved in their events.
what we DO NOT want is for alumni players to regularly take spots from active students as this is counter productive and hurts participation and recruitment long term.
Whilst the following rule outlines our restrictions, we do reserve the right to step in if we feel there is use of the rule that goes against the spirit in which this temporary change has been made
Additional Criteria for eligibility for 21/22 League Season
Player is a registered Alumni Player and can show that they were eligible to participate in the 20/21 season.
NB: There is a maximum of TWO alumni players per team in any given Match.
We are now ready to announce four of our league divisions. full tables showing how many teams each university has will be coming shortly with placeholder fixture dates. if you wish to rearrange these dates to better help your schedules then that is fine but you must let us know.
NB: The North West and Scottish divisions are currently under subscribed and if we are unable to launch them soon we plan to replace them with a knockout style Cup staring slightly later in the year.
Player Registration for 21/22 Season
It is the time of year where we ask everyone to register to play in our events for the year. This is necessarily for us to check those that are are participating meet our eligibility criteria. As we do not have the luxury of Data Sharing deals with universities that some other sports have this means you will have to show that you meet the criteria. Please read the regulations and the forms carefully and upload the correct evidence as required. Playing unregistered players in matches may result in point deductions after the fact.
Please note that player registration data is only held for the season then deleted. if you have registered in a previous season then you will have to register again. If you would like your information to be removed during the year then please do reach out and let us know.

We will have some news for you very soon about events but we are not ready to announce at the moment.
Please check over the rules and regulations to refresh your memory of everything and make sure those that are new know to have a look through.
Please also make sure your league venue meets our requirements
NB: If your venue has any specific requirements (e.g. Mask whilst playing) then please make sure any visiting team are aware of such regulations a reasonable amount of time before a match.
“Regulation 5.1 – Handshake” Rule Relaxation
This regulation is currently a recommendation however we do understand that some people will still be uneasy with handshakes so please don’t be offended if someone does not wish to take your handshake. Please just state what you are comfortable with be that a fist bump, elbow tap or just a thumbs up. as long as their is politeness and the spirit of the handshake before and after games is maintained we will not mind. Please just be mindful that everyone will have their own line and we should all do our best to respect that.
This will be reviewed again in the future.

Hall of Fame Appointment
We feel it is time that we inducted George Francis into the hall of fame as a Pillar of the Community
George has recently decided to step down from his position as League Coordinator and along with great work as part of the committee has been a key figure in running not just one but TWO university darts clubs, At University of Sheffield then following a move the University of Leeds. We wish him luck in his new position as a lecturer at the University of Aberdeen and if a club starts there then you know where to find us! We hope to see you at some of our events in the future.
