<h2>A Thank You </h2> We would first like to begin this month by thanking Michael Kelly for his work during his time as UDUK President, despite the exceptional circumstances he faced. His work, assisted by Simon Rimmington, during the pandemic ensured we were one of few University sports able to socialise, nevertheless online, and continue to play the game we love. Furthermore, the reintroduction of in-person darts last academic year allowed the growth of societies across the UK – after the desolation of the previous 18 months. Thank you and best wishes, MK. <h2> </h2><h2>2022/23 Academic Year </h2> As we enter August, we begin to rapidly approach the 2022/23 academic year. With the departure of Michael Kelly as President comes a new committee. This is as follows: • Kyle Mandell (University of Warwick) – President • Iwan Hughes (University of Liverpool) – Vice President / Marketing • James Challinor (Nottingham Trent) – Treasurer • Michael Brindley (University of Nottingham) – Events Coordinator • John Sutherland (University of Glasgow) – Scotland Coordinator / Events Coordinator We aim to bring stability, opportunity, and growth during the upcoming academic year. There are still other roles available to ensure the smooth running of UDUK, so please get in touch for more information. We have already received interest for universities who wish to enter the UDUK for 22/23. However, we are always looking to expand so if you are a university not currently affiliated with the UDUK, or know of someone at such a university, feel free to contact us for more information. Alongside the expansion of regional divisions this year, it is also key that major events, epitomised by Big Weekender, are reintegrated into the UDUK calendar. With more information to come soon, it is also important that if you believe your university is suitable to host an event that this is proposed to the UDUK. We are always open to proposals of such as it allows for the growth of both your society and the UDUK.
