UDUK has lost a legend of the community, Leeds alum Tommy Pritchard has very sadly passed away following a car accident at Christmas.&nbsp; Tommy was a stalwart of university darts, attending numerous Big Weekenders and Northern competitions, he was a fearsome competitor who was a cert to make the knockouts. He also played in the wildly successful lockdown competitions.&nbsp; More recently Tommy had been running a pub in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, gaining rave reviews from CAMRA and featuring on Sky News talking about 'Sober October'. Whatever he turned his hand to, he made a success of.&nbsp; UDUK founder Simon Rimington said:<blockquote>Tommy embodied everything university darts was all about, initially he was the only player from Leeds, hearing about events online and coming on his own. He quickly became a friend to many players with his outgoing and friendly nature. He was a forerunner for the now thriving university darts scene in Leeds but he remained around long enough to feature in the very successful student staged Ally Pally style events. Tommy was truly a legend of university darts and he will be fondly remembered by all who met him. I am sad to think our paths will not cross again at a random darting event.</blockquote> Former UDUK president Harley Wilkes added:<blockquote>I am deeply sad to hear of the passing of Tommy Pritchard. When I took over UDUK Tommy helped me no end, offering advice, advertising and helping to organise leagues. He was a mainstay at University Darts and always a pleasure to have around. I'm sure I speak for everyone involved in university darts that he will dearly missed. Personally I will miss catching up and will always be grateful for everything he did to help me.</blockquote> We hope you will join us in raising a glass to Tommy at the Big Weekender in Harrogate in March, these events were something Tommy never missed and he would be thrilled it is in his second home of Yorkshire.
