After a successful staging in 2023, the Summer Showdown is to return for 2024. The event, which will take place on 21st June at Bradmoor Farm Sports Bar in Haddenham, will cap off a fantastic 2023/24 season for UDUK. Last year, the Showdown was staged at the Magna Centre in Rotherham and hosted the organisation’s largest event since Covid-19 pandemic. It was <a href="https://www.uduk.co.uk/post/clmxi3unu0003mr08r4frgzsu" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: transparent;">notably won </a>by Sheffield graduate and current PDC Tour Card holder Adam Warner, who defeated Hallam’s James Buckby 3-0 in the final. Its popularity sees it return this year once again, this time in a new location with close access to the Chiltern main line and motorways. Play for the singles tournament will begin at approximately 5.30pm, with tickets priced at £5 per person. A group stage will be followed by the knockouts, which we hope to be complete by 10.30pm at the latest. A free entry, optional blind pairs tournament will begin at 3pm, with doors open from 2.30pm. Entry is open to all current students as well as one-year alumni, with more detailed plans on format to follow once ticket sales have progressed.
